In conclusion, energy requirement rises day by. In addition, amount of fossil fuels are limited and they decrease, so goverments start to research alternative energy sources which one is unlimited. In addition, the energy should not contribute greenhouse emission in other world global warming and shouldn’t affect bio-diversity. As it is understood, renewable energy sources are correspondent with these definitions and it is relationship sustainable development policy, so effective usage of these sources help us to meet needs in energy.

Secondly, the world’s energy generation is provided fossil fuels, renewable energy, nuclear energy, %79, %18, %3, respectively (GEKA, 2011). Each energy sources have carbon dioxide emission problems. The carbon dioxide emission contributes to greenhouse gas (GHG) emission. If we look carbon dioxide emission of these sources (g-CO2/kWh), we see that coal is 943, natural gas is 474, nuclear power is 20 and renewable energy sources are between 10-25.In views of this ratio, to be first energy source of fossil sources are the primary reason of global warming. To solve this problem, sustainable development policy and effective usage of renewable energy become common worldwide. For example, the Turkish government’s the process of developing a strategy will be detailed in context of Turkey’s adhesion to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) (Karagöz, Bakirci, 2009). In addition, the government is planning new renewable energy plants such solar energy in Antalya, wind energy project in Silivri. Lastly, when we look that where we stand now in the world, consumption of non-renewable energy resources cause to disappear natural sources, bio-diversity of forest, sea or air apart from global warming. This energy problem might be solved with clean energy in other words renewable energy resources. Wind and solar energy are the fastest and known source for sustainable development (Savin, 2013). For example, wind farm involves 1 km 2 area which has twenty turbines. Moreover, this terrain uses part of one percentage for turbines, so other parts can be used for animal husbandry, farming and forestation then power plant is worked.

Nowadays, population is increasing gradually.Being parallel related to population growth; more energy requirements had been eventuated. It is necessary to meet these energy needs. While we are supplying the needs, environmental problems should be evaluated. Result of these has made us to seek for new energy sources. This seeking comes across new terms of sustainability. The sustainability in terms of economic, social and environmental are included of the energy and sustainable development. This study will focus on the relationship between environmental problems of sustainable development and energy generation and consumption. Firstly, consumption of energy is increases at least 50 or 60 percentages with population growth (Gupta, 1993). Research conducted see that fossil fuel reserve start to decrease and they do not meet increasing energy demand. Also, speed of energy consumption will be 300 thousand times than formation of fossil fuel in the world (Yılmaz et al., 2003). Energy can be limitless and it is transferred posterity for sustainability. Sun is infinite energy source and renewable energy resources get from sun, directly and indirectly. So, these resources are not limited and will not run out
